Animated Conversation was shot during a residency in the South of France.

As the title suggests, Animated Conversation is a conversation between a human body and a river. The communication with the elements of the river (water, rocks, trees, sunbeams, etc) is made through the moving body, which seems to become aware of its own physicality through the movement, shapes, and stretched out time of nature.

Our movements are mostly dictated by society and controlled by convention or by fear. Bodies, especially female and queer bodies, are constantly policed, self-controlled and shamed. We often move through the world in ways that limit or prohibit the world from entering us. Animated Conversation explores a different way of moving and interacting, a way of moving on the ecosystem's terms.
